OVERALL:
There isn't a whole lot to Sookie Stackhouse, at least as far as appearance goes. She's a pretty little blonde, maybe too pretty. She'd probably be more attractive if about half the town didn't think she was completely crazy. Her blonde hair is long and worn several different ways. She prefers a pony tail when she works. She's got a nice “natural” tan. Not one of those so tan you look like an orange tan, but a nice subtle glow that she works very hard to keep up. She's normally seen in her Merlotte's uniform or, outside of work, dresses or shorts. She isn't too particular unless she's going out. Her build is slim but a little curvy. Since she has met the vampires, she's grown a bit into herself and her confidence levels have sort of gone up a little. Which is good, because it means she's just not as concerned with what people think about her as she used to be.
I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE
BUT BEFORE THE NIGHT IS THROUGH...
BUT BEFORE THE NIGHT IS THROUGH...
LIKES:
*waitressing – some people think it doesn't require much, but Sookie is good at it
*not feeling like a freak – sometimes her telepathy pays off, and finding a few people who can also read minds has helped her feel more like she isn't a completely crazy person
*sun bathing – Sook is really fond of getting a tan
*dressing up – Looking nice is always, well, nice
*normal days – the ones where she doesn't feel like she's doing everything at once with no information
DISLIKES:
*being called crazy – she isn't, she just has a little problem with hearing voices in her head that aren't hers, and that's actually people's thoughts. Nothing she can do about that.
*not having some measure of control – being a mind reader has gotten her used to knowing what is going on, but there are some people she has trouble reading and sometimes it's wonderful, other times it just makes her feel vulnerable.
*that she lost a year of her life – yeah, she's pretty bitter about that
*loving two vampires and having serious attraction to a were – relationships can be so confusing and she's avoided them for most of her life because of the telepathy, but she can't hear vampires and weres are difficult.
*russell edgington – she believes him to be dead, along with sophie anne and debbie pelt (the last person she shot), but she'll never forget how he tried to use her to get what he wanted and then practically drained heralong with eric northman
STRENGTHS:
*strong willed – usually. Some people could call this just pure stubbornness, but Sookie likes to think that she isn't a doormat.
*survival instinct – she's had several near death encounters and she's still breathing. Must be something in thebloodwater she's drank.
*
WEAKNESSES:
*fighting – while she isn't afraid to spill a little blood anymore, fighting is not her strong point. It probably has something to do with the fact that seeing death sort of saddens her
*stubborn – Sookie is very stubborn. There's just no right way to explain it. Things like not admitting to herself that she liked Eric or doing what she wants even if it's the harder way to do something.
*staying out of people's heads – It's become habit. Now that she's learning to control her ability, she slips into brains without realizing it just out of curiosity. She's used to knowing everything about everyone.
SECRETS:
*she's killed several people and taken part in several other deaths – this isn't a secret to supernaturals (well, most of them), but to anyone who could put her in jail, it's definitely kept a secret
*she sometimes wishes that Bill Compton had never stepped foot into Merlotte's and that her life could go back to normal, even if that meant being Crazy Sookie Stackhouse again.
OVERALL:
Open Minded;
One could say that's very literate, as just about everyone's mind is open to hers. She heard everything people think. As such, she's learned a great deal about people that she wouldn't really like to know. Sookie has learned a lot about herself through that gift as well. She doesn't feel like she can judge anything or anyone based on what sort of race or species they are because she is different herself. Now, judging someone based on their thoughts, well, she really can't help that. But in general, she's very accepting of vampires, shifters, weres, and even the fae, though they have recently tried to trap her in a world that she didn't feel like she belonged in. Like humans, she tries to give them a chance. She doesn't want to hate them unless she's given a reason. Unfortunately, she's had a lot of good reasons to not trust anything supernatural, her own fairy kin included.
Strong;
Not physically, though when she's had some vampire blood she can be very strong (she's not a fan of drinking vampire blood unless it's necessary, however). Mentally, Sookie can handle a lot. She's had to; growing up telepathic wasn't exactly easy. On top of that, she's had to deal with her parents dying, her friends dying, her Gran's death, and she's killed people too. Sookie has been through a lot in her life and even more in the last year. She normally isn't one to back down and she takes responsibility for her actions, though she might not want to all the time. That isn't to say she can show weakness, because she's been found crying from time to time and she knows that she can be very fragile at times.
Caring;
Some people mistake this for naivety, and at one point, Sookie was very naive. That part of her life, mostly anyway, is over. The world has opened up for her and she's learning more about the supernatural and herself every day, or well, night. Her entire life has been turned upside down, but she still finds it in herself to care for and about other people. Sometimes she hates people so much she could spit, but she also knows that there are some really good people, vampires, humans, shifters or whatever they might be, in the world, and they don't deserve for her to get mad at everyone just because one person does something wrong to her.

OVERALL HISTORY:
Sookie wasn't delivered in a hospital. There wasn't enough time to get to one and she hadn't been to a hospital for any illness until recently. She was born on May 24 in 1982. Sookie was the second Stackhouse child of Corbett and Michelle. Jason was a few years older, the first child. The Stackhouses would only have two children. At an early age it was obvious that Sookie was different. The blonde little girl would respond to things that people were thinking instead of saying. Her mother became very scared for her daughter and put her through some tests. The therapists told her that Sookie had ADHD or that she was really intuitive, but even though Michelle was afraid of what Sookie might be, she wouldn't let anyone put her daughter on medicine.
It was a few years later, when Sookie was almost eight, her parents were killed in a flash flood after having dropped her and her brother off at their Gran's house. Adele Stackhouse (Gran) cared for both Jason and Sookie after that. Adele's brother was banned from their house when Sookie was young, for touching her inappropriately. Adele was the only person Sookie told because her Gran was the only person that Sookie thought she could trust enough. Adele Stackhouse wasn't afraid of Sookie like other people were. Sookie didn't have to hide around her Gran.
School was a difficult thing for Sookie. She had trouble concentrating because she could hear everyone's thoughts. Most kids might have thought that being a telepath was cool when it came to classes – you'd be able to have all the right answers. It wasn't that way for Sookie. She couldn't control who she listened to. Every thought came flooding through her brain and she couldn't separate them. She was good at school work, when she got home she had high marks on her homework. But when it came to tests, everyone was thinking about so many different things and it was hard to pick out anything or block it out at all.
As she progressed through school, Sookie learned to control her disability (her Gran called it an ability, but Sookie didn't feel the same way) a little better. She learned to put up a sort of shield and block the minds of others from her own, but it required constant work. It was exhausting. She struggled through high school but somehow she got through it. She had one friend, Tara Thornton, whose mother was an alcoholic.
Sookie got a job waitressing at Merlotte's Bar and Grill. She was still not very good at controlling whose thoughts went through her head, but she was trying. Sam Merlotte didn't seem to care and the group of people who knew about her little talent grew just a little. Most people in Bon Temps just thought Sookie was crazy, or some thought she was a bit psychic. It was sort of frustrating. It wasn't until one night, two years after the vampires came out of the coffin, that things started to change for Sookie. A vampire walked into the bar and ordered a True Blood (that they didn't have). The Rattrays introduced themselves to him and before Sookie knew it, they were out in the parking lot draining the vampire. She saved him, of course, when she heard in the Rattrays's minds what they were planning on doing. The vampire introduced himself, seemingly reluctantly, as Bill. Sookie tried listening in on his thoughts, but she couldn't hear anything. It was absolutely wonderful, for about five minutes. Then it just got scary. Sookie wasn't comfortable with not knowing someone's thoughts.
About the same time, a series of murders started occurring in the town. It became obvious that the murderer was after Sookie when her Gran turned up dead in their kitchen. While she was trying to figure out who the killer was, she met Eric Northman, sheriff of Area Five in Louisiana. Bill had agreed to take Sookie to the vampire bar, Fangtasia, to see if she could listen in on some of the humans there, as it was apparent now that she could not read the thoughts of vampires. Eric summoned her back, through Bill, to find out who was stealing money from the bar. It turned out that Longshadow, a partner of the bar, had been the one taking the money, and as he attacked Sookie, Bill staked him. Eventually, Sookie discovered that Rene, her friend Arlene's fiance, was the killer. He tried to kill her, but Sookie was strong enough mentally to kill him.
Just a couple of weeks later, Vampire marriage was legalized in Vermont. Sookie was at work when she found out and Arlene started teasing her about it. After work, Sookie and Tara walked Detective Andy Bellefleur out to his car only to find a dead woman in the back of his car with her heart cut out. She could tell that Tara knew who the girl was and convinced her to tell the cops. The same night, Sookie found out what Bill's punishment for killing Longshadow was: making Jessica. The red-haired girl became sort of an adoptive daughter to Sookie. The blonde just had a way of understanding her, even if Jessica ended up sort of betraying her just a little when Sookie tried to be nice and took Jessica to see her family.
It was at this time that Sookie got out of the car after being yelled at by Bill and started walking by herself in the woods. She was attacked by something that was part bull and part human. Three poison scratches on her back led her to Eric Northman, who had a doctor heal her. She found out that her friend Lafayette was being held captive and that a vampire named Godric had gone missing in Texas. She worked out a deal with the Sheriff of Area Five and Sookie was on her way to Dallas, Texas and Lafayette was free to go home. While in Texas, Sookie infiltrated the Fellowship of the Sun, got captured, met Godric, got rescued, attacked by a Fellowship bomber, tricked into drinking Eric's blood, and watched Godric die.
As if that wasn't enough, Jason was there. At least by the time they saw each other, Jason had turned from the Fellowship. They went back to Bon Temps, where they had a new issue: Maryann Forrester. They were finally able to get rid of her by almost killing Sam Merlotte and having Bill save him by giving him vampire blood. Then Sam turned into a bull to trick Maryann into thinking she was meeting her god. When everything was over, Bill took Sookie out and proposed. Sookie was hesitant and excused herself for a moment. When she came back, Bill was missing.
Convinced that Bill had been kidnapped, Sookie went to everyone she could think of in an attempt to find Bill Compton. Eric turned out to be the best source. He sent Alcide to look after her while she looked for Bill in Mississippi. Alcide was a werewolf. His thoughts were a little more difficult to read, like her friend Sam who she found out was a shifter, but she could still hear him. He took her to a Were bar where she met Debbie Pelt and found out that Russell Edgington, the vampire King of Mississippi, was giving them blood. She also learned that he had Bill. She was forced to stay in the mansion but escaped with Tara, who was also there, taking Bill (staking Lorena, Bill's maker, in the process) and leaving Debbie in the shed where he'd been kept.
Sookie was also learning more about herself. She had passed out from blood loss, during which time she met Claudine. She turned out to be her fairy god mother. Bill told her that he had also met Claudine and that Sookie was a fae, or fairy. Sookie wasn't very happy, but at least she knew what she was. On the downside, that meant any vampire who knew or suspected what she was, was a threat to her (more than she would have been if she'd just been human).
Bill nearly drained her in the back of the trailer they had rescued him in, and then later Eric and Russell nearly drained her again. After the trailer ride, Sookie visited the hospital for the first time, where she learned that she had no blood type. After having some more blood, Sookie went home and was told by Bill later that Russell Edgington was dead and that he was going to make Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana. Eric showed up and revealed Bill's true reason for coming back to Bon Temps – to find out what Sookie was and to seduce her if it was necessary. Sookie took away both their invitations to her home and ran out to the graveyard to speak to her Gran's stone when she thought they were gone. While there, Claudine came to her and took her to Faery.
In Faery, Sookie found her Grandaddy Earl, whom she thought had died when she was very young. She told him of her Gran's passing and when they found out that the fairies were harvesting people, she and Earl jumped through a portal and went back to Bon Temps, where Grandaddy Earl died after giving her a watch to give to Jason. When she got to her house, people were working on it. Jason came when they called the police and Sookie found out that she had been gone a year.
A lot had changed in that time but she felt like nothing had changed. She still felt the same way about everyone, not trusting Bill or Eric. The latter lost his memory after an encounter with witches and Sookie ended up housing him in her home, which had actually been sold to Eric. Sookie found out about Bill's rising to be King of Louisiana, but she didn't know if she wanted to know how that happened or not. Sookie started to fall in love with Eric. He was at one point sentenced to die because of almost staking Bill, but the king let him go. Afterward, Sookie and Eric joined the fight against the witches. Sookie was injured and Eric was taken. She went with Jason, Jesus, and Lafayette to rescue Tara and the others trapped in Moon Goddess Emporium. After a lot of fighting, Sookie returned home and ended up feeding Bill and Eric, then telling them both that she loved them but couldn't be with them because it wasn't fair to anyone of them. She went home and killed Debbie Pelt, who had shot Tara when Tara tried to protect Sookie.
I WANNA DO REAL BAD THINGS WITH YOU...
NAME/ALIAS: amber
AGE: 24
OTHER CHARACTERS: none
RP SAMPLE:Of course Eric wasn’t going to answer her question directly, that would have been too simple for her, too easy and Eric wasn’t one to make things easy on Sookie. She looked back on recent events and attempted to figure out what had gotten her into this God forsaken situation. She wanted to know when her world and life went from being this safe little boring place to being the confusing mess that it was tonight. If Eric felt anything for her outside of the physical context that he was so eager to show - the side that wanted to win her so-to-speak, then Sookie didn’t know it. She couldn’t see anything in the vampire as far as his own emotions went. That was something she hated about the man. He was so stoic most of the time. Even in smile was one that sent shivers down her spine - and not in a particularly good way.
Still, there were times when she thought she saw in him some bit of humanity, and that was the part of her that, dare she say it?, found the vampire intriguing and maybe even felt some sense of attraction to him. He had manipulated her, sure, but he had never hid it like Bill had. Was that better or worse? Sookie couldn’t decide. And she didn’t expect herself to in all honesty. With her life being so messed up right now, she couldn’t expect herself to know or understand anything - heck, she was still trying to figure out what being a fairy meant to her (and she kept coming up with the fact that it was too lame to think about, being a telepath had been so much easier than being able to shoot energy from her body).
Sookie took in a deep breath and again swallowed audibly. She didn’t want to face the fact that she did in fact feel something for Eric Northman, Sheriff of Area Nine and owner of the vampire bar Fangtasia, but how could she avoid that reality, especially now that Bill was out of the picture… well, for the most part. Figuring out how she felt was a lot easier said than done. Eric Northman was many things, both good and bad. He’d done several horrible things to her - letting her walk right into a Texan trap being only one of those things. But something on the inside at her gnawed at her mind and heart. Gran had said to follow her heart, but she didn’t know how that was possible when that heart was split into so many different pieces - a piece for Eric, a piece for Alcide, and God help her, there was still a piece there for Bill. The only thing she could come up with was that she had to be completely insane.
To her, Eric’s comment about liking it in Louisiana sounded sort of like a light-hearted death sentence. But it had Sookie almost frantic. She didn’t want to think about Eric dying or even leaving the state, though the latter she would deal with if it meant that he would be safe. She couldn’t believe she was even thinking that - Eric, who had put her through so much pain and suffering, she wanted him to be safe. “You can’t just stay here if it means you’ll die. I won’t allow it.” Her stubbornness talked for her - there was nothing she could literally do to make Eric think of leaving to save his own skin but she could try. “Besides, you have nothing here to cling to right? You could just take Pam and go.” She knew Pam meant a great deal to Eric, almost as much as Godric maybe… maybe. But she was also trying to figure out just how Eric felt about her. It was then that she answered his other question. “I can’t figure out how I feel if I barely even know what I am.” Which was mostly true, but the other part was taking into consideration how she felt about the others. “I have no intention of going back to Bill.” She looked at the floor now and backed herself against the wall, feeling the need for extra support - to be saying that out loud was a lot for her. Of course she had no intention of going back to Bill, but she couldn’t predict the future either. Whether Bill could manipulate his way back into her life or not was yet to be seen. That answer, about how she felt, would have to do, because it was all she had.
